This was published in 1944 with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Johnny Mercer and has been recorded by artists such as Bing Crosby, Dinah Washington and Ella Fitzgerald. When asked how he came to write the lyrics, Mercer replied, ‘My agent went to a church service and the sermon was all about accentuating the positive and eliminating the negative.
