Java Jive

‘Java Jive’ was written  by Ben Oakland and Milton Drake in 1940 and is a wonderfully positive song considering the times in which it was composed. It was made famous by The Ink Spots but has also been covered very successfully by The Manhattan Transfer. I think this was my 2nd attempt at arranging for 4-part close harmony voices. It’s playing the traditional approach with nothing too way out and scary, hopefully evoking the Ink Spots sound. Click on the score below to hear Copious Notes in action ……….
