Cirencester Abbey 900
In 2016 I was invited by the organisers of ‘Abbey 900’ (celebrating the 900th anniversary of Cirencester Abbey the following year) to compose some music for the big concert. I chose text by Alexander Neckham, abbot of Cirencester Abbey from 1213 until his death. The text I used was ‘Laus Sapientiae Divine’ and the Swindon-based chamber choir Dodecantus happily took on the challenge! Please click on their photo for more pics. Weirdly, when it came to the actual concert, I was stuck the wrong end of the hall so videoed the performance from behind a pew… silly me!!
They liked it by the way, with the reply from Corinne Lamus, chief organiser of Abbey 900:

The real thing!
