Joseph (1974-5)

Moving to Leicester in 1974, I was amazed at the number of shows on at The Haymarket Theatre. In 1974 there was an advert in the Leicester Mercury for children to audition for the children’s choir for the new show ‘Joseph’. My sister and went to the auditions (queues a mile long and 100 on the stage at a time) and both got through so were in two shows a day from the Summer. Maynard Williams was Joseph and there was a young actor playing Asher … Alan Rickman!
