In 2014 I started as Music Teacher at The Collegiate School in Stapleton, Bristol, teaching from Years 7 to Year 13, GCSE and A-Level. I directed the Choir and Orchestra and arranged music for them.

Part of the school calendar was the Charter Day when the three big schools had a big service in Bristol Cathedral. My job was to lead everyone in the hymns and try and keep everyone together - quite a feat of engineering!

I enjoyed making the most of my time in Bristol, even after school had finished:

  • I started and directed The Stapleton Singers, a choir of parents and local singers and performed in local events including carolling at Southmead Hospital where I dressed as an elf (more than once!)

  • I joined the Committee of the Bristol Festival of Music, Speech and Drama with the school hosting the finals and Harp masterclasses
